Are All-On-4 Implants A Good Option?

All-On-4 is a term used for a dental procedure. As the name indicates, in this procedure, all the artificial teeth are supported on a group of four dental implants. This procedure is normally done in older people who have worn out their teeth with time, and now they don’t have teeth to chew with, or after an accidental loss of all the teeth. Four implants, commonly metal ones, are planted in the gums of the patient, and then the teeth are placed, supported with the help of magnetic attraction. Implants can also be done after decaying of all the teeth due to severe gum disease conditions or general tooth decaying process, which might be due to excessive sugar consumption. The process of all-on-4 is not specifically an invention, but a modification and advancement in the previously used dental treatment or repair techniques. With time, research has led to the process of all on four. An upper or lower denture is placed on the titanium rods implanted in the jaw beforehand. These implants don’t have sensory endings of direct or indirect nerves of the nervous system, this lack of sensation can interfere with some physiological functions. All-on-4 implants are designed to replace all the teeth in the mouth. Each denture used with all-on-4 implants usually contains 14 teeth: 4 incisors, 2 canines, 4 premolars, and 4 molars.

Prices for all on 4 implants can range from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars because of the material used in the production. A variety of different substances are used of varying prices, which patients can choose from while getting the implant. The quality and strength of these all on four implants also depend upon the material being used for the procedure. Which Is Better All On 4 Or All On 6 Dental Implants? All-on-6 implants are similar to all-on-4 implants in the procedure, but the main difference between these two is the number of base implants which are drilled into the gums for the dentures to rest upon. All on 6 implants are done by drilling 6 metallic rods in the mouth, on the upper or lower gums, as needed. Then the pre-assembled dentures set is placed upon these implants. There are different theories behind choosing all-on-six implants as compared to all-on-four implants. Some dentists think all on six implants are more stable as compared to all on four implants because of the six metallic bases embedded in the mouth. It is believed that the 6 base structures are supposed to provide more strength to the denture that is going to be placed upon the bases, and the magnetic attraction between the denture and the metallic base is stronger in the case of 6 metallic pieces as compared to four. Another very concerning thought is about the use of extra metal in the mouth for the procedure. The addition of two pieces of metal to the already added four pieces can be inconvenient for some people. This can also be problematic for people as it may cause an excessive metallic weight in the mouth. How Long Do All On Four Implants Last? All on four implants are very durable, and they have very long lifetimes. Generally, all on four implants can last anywhere from 20 years to 25 years on average. All on four implants, as they have a magnetic base, are removable and can be kept in a safe environment while sleeping or when the teeth are not in need because wearing the dentures all the time can worsen the condition and can lead to complications.

Are All-On-4 Implants A Good Option? Dental health is very important for people to live a better and healthy lifestyle. Procedures like these are making the life of people easier, and the procedures are making the people who feel left out of the communities acceptable socially. People can smile with ease, and meeting new people is not tough for suffering people because a very big hurdle in confidence can be solved with these cosmetic dental procedures. Special care is required in order to get a longer life out of these kinds of procedures. -After eating, clean all the spaces under and around the denture. -Make sure to use water and a good quality mouthwash (as recommended by your doctor), and make sure the mouthwash is antibacterial. -An electric brush can give very promising results so that you clean the premises properly because the leftover products in the mouth can lead to bacterial proliferation and infection development. -Make a common practice of brushing your tongue, too. The tongue is a very good proliferation ground for bacteria and may lead to many complications. If you are facing any issue regarding dental health. Contact your dentist's office and book an appointment now because leaving the problems unattended can lead to severe complications.

The Doctors Are Just Stellar
Natalie R.

The sweetest people work here, I'm convinced! The ladies at the front desk always go out of their way to be kind and helpful, the hygienists listen to your concerns and will address them to their best ability, and the doctors are just stellar. I drive over 40 min from where I live to go here because it's rare to find a dental office this fantastic.

The Staff Did A Great Job
David L.

Came to Cypress Family Dental a year ago for my sleep apnea device. No more snoring! The staff did a great job fitting me for this oral appliance. Better yet, they were there to support me when I needed some adjustments later on. The front office staff couldn't have been more accommodating to schedule me in. Easy to recommend.

They Truly Care
Tina E.

The dentist and his staff are wonderful people! In the past, I have had horrible experiences at other dentist offices and then I found this place and I don't think I would ever go anywhere else again. I live about 45 min away from their office but the drive is well worth it. They truly care about their patients. I would recommend this office to anyone.

This is the best dentist I have been to and I have been to several. The team is professional and welcoming. They are never over-booked and I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the lobby. They are so efficient, no matter what I go in for, I am out in 45 minutes or less. I highly recommend Cypress Family Dental.

They're All Top Notch
Julie C.

I'm so happy to have found this awesome dentist with an awesome staff. I am completely confident in the doctor's skill level, and completely comfortable relying on him to work on me without allowing me to experience unnecessary pain. In addition to having a good relationship with the dentist, being able to relate with the office staff is equally important to me. From the hygienist to the dental assistants to the front desk, they're all top notch.
